Best Beef Shawarma Recipe!
Shawarma is a Middle Eastern dish of garlicky meat or poultry served on pitas. Yo can use any type of meat: beef, chicken or lamb. This meat is usually cooked on a vertical grill and then shaved off and used to make sandwiches. Today, I want to share with you my recipe. You will need spices: 2 tsp Cumin powder 1 tsp Cardamom powder ½ tsp Cinnamon ½ tsp Chili flakes ½ tsp Cloves(ground) 2 tsp Paprika 1 tsp Allspice(ground) ½ tsp Turmeric ½ tsp Ginger powder 1 tsp Coriander Seeds(ground) 2 tsp Onion powder 2 tsp Garlic Salt 1 tsp Black Pepper 1 tsp White Pepper. For Marinade you will also need: Zest from 1 Lemon Juice from 1 Lemon 300 ml Club Soda or any unflavored carbonated water. Notice, I did not use any salt, except Garlic salt, but you can use 1 tbs of salt in your spice mix. For meat selection: I used Beef Sirloin Flap, but you can use skirt steak or flank steak. Marinade the meat and leave it in the fridge for at least 5 hours(better overnight) Using upright chicken baker pile the meat on top of the spit. Put all shaved off meat in a container until ready to assemble Shawarma. For Toum(Thomia)-Garlic Sauce you will need: 6 cloves garlic 1 tsp salt 2 tsp lemon juice 1 tsp icy water(if needed to thin out sauce) You can use any vegetables you like in assembling your Shawarma: lettuce, onions, tomatoes, bell peppers.
